If You Want to Dance, You Must!
So you have always loved ballet!
Or maybe you just discovered it. It could be that you went to ballet class as a kid, but later life took you in a different direction. Or maybe you did not have the chance to do ballet when you were younger. The thing is, now as an adult, you really want to! Something in your soul tells you that you want to be able to dance, and you want to dance ballet. You really want to go to an adult ballet class, but the idea terrifies you as well. The thought of walking into a class filled with people that have already being practicing, is not the easiest thing to do, especially if you don't know the terminology, etiquette and structure of a ballet class.
When I first re turned to ballet after a long absence, even though I had extensive training, I felt that apprehension. I spent countless hours on the internet and reading books to piece together all the knowledge that I needed to refresh what I knew and eventually progress. The reason I created this course, is so you don't have to. Everything you need to begin is right here.
I believe firmly that if you want to dance, then you MUST!
Ballet is quite structured and regimented. The good thing about that, is that once you learn the basic concepts this course will teach you, you will be able to walk into any adult ballet class, because the structure is followed everywhere in pretty much the same way, with very slight variations.
If you know in your heart and soul that dancing ballet will bring you joy, then you must absolutely do it! I created this course to help you get started. It is a tool box filled with all the knowledge you need. Having that knowledge, the prospect of embarking on your ballet journey as an adult is a lot less scary.
If you purchased this course, that means that you are serious about dancing, even if you still haven't started. Congratulations on taking the first step! Now complete all the modules, preferably in order. Do not skip anything, because each module builds on the next.
If you did danced as a kid, it is likely that you will begin remembering some of the steps and terminology. Still, review all the lectures and practice along. Unless you were very serious in your ballet studies as a kid and took class for 6 years or more, you will not have the concepts completely internalized. I arrived at this conclusion by observing hundreds of students that have attended my adult ballet classes over the years. Those that have done ballet for 5 years or more, will have an easier time remembering, and those that took ballet for 4 years or less, especially if starting at a very young age like 4 or 5, will usually to recollect. most of it, but thats ok! With this course, you can start from zero and build your knowledge up.
This course is designed to be useful to both the absolute beginner, and the returning dancer. I am assuming that you know absolutely nothing about ballet as a practice. I do not assume any previous experience.
Shortly after the launch of this course, a more intermediate version will become available, and I hope that as you progress, you will find yourself ready for it! Also, new lectures will open inside this course with more exercises and combinations at the beginner level and you will automatically get them and there will be no additional charges!!
Let's get started, and hope to see you at the barre!
